Moroccan Theme Rooms - 13 Tips That Include Furniture, Walls, and Fabric

You may have a desire to have a room in your home that is Moroccan in theme. However you may not know where to start. The follow is some sugestions that will aid you in the remodel of your home!

1. You will achieve the look and feel you want by painting your walls warm colors.

2. Choose ceiling colors that are similar to your walls. Avoid selecting a ceiling color extremely different than your walls. Accents can be added later.

3. Your window frames, baseboards, doors and crown molding should be painted any color except white, if possible. (In Morocco, Blue Doors mean good luck)

4. You can paint or stain furniture around your home a dark tone. Morrocan, Moorish, African or even Asian furniture all work well. For your dining room you may want to consider a café table and café table chairs.

5. Look for engraved woodwork, ornamental metalwork or carved designs.

6. Spread out some small rugs to give a rich, luxurious mood. Opt for full length curtains with simple vertical stripes.

7. Look for hanging lamps made of colored glass or even fabric or paper lanterns.

8. Place lots of candles around your room for a warm cozy glow.

9. Multicolored lamps add a decorative style. Punctured tin, fabric or paper lanterns can also be used quite nicely.

10. Hang material around the room and drape it casually over chairs.

11. Instead of just table and chairs, if possible use counters with Morrocan barstools to add more to the casual feel of the room. Search online for specific Morrocan ones.

12. Accent your room with small exotic pieces that remind you of where you have been. Add them casually around the room.

13. Buy lots of pillows and put them all around your room. Decorate with lots of rugs and cushions so your floor looks like a comfortable place to relax.
